Cranium Cafe was delighted to present our micromeeting software at the 1st Annual eLearning Conference located at Spokane Falls Community College. The attendees at this event included Washington state colleges and universities in Spokane and the surrounding areas. Teaching professionals, faculty, administrators, and IT directors attended this two day event held on September 9th and 10th, 2013.
The premise of the conference was to share new software and teaching techniques that will enhance the academic achievements of students both in online courses and traditional classrooms. The large stadium classrooms in the new Spokane Falls science building was the perfect setting to share and demonstrate the Cafe, our Canvas LMS learning tool integration.
The Cafe team loved the opportunity to discuss the functionality of the Cafe within Canvas and the opportunities to use the platform for recruiting, academic advising, tutoring, proctoring, and more. We decided not to use slides but to go right into the demonstration of the software and have an open discussion forum. The attendees appreciated our candid approach and quickly started asking questions on tech requirements, Canvas course settings, and Cafe best practices.
The end result of our two day demonstration was a success and many attendees have decided to implement the Cafe within their colleges and universities.
A big “Thank You” to Mary Ann Goodwin, Dean of eLearning and Kelly Morin, Online Educational Instructional Designer both from the Community Colleges of Spokane. We are looking forward to next year!
